Physical presence note

Ordinary naturalization uses qualifying residence and proportionate absence limits. The official guidance states a maximum total absence of three months for the one-year period.

PR & naturalization

Family residence and citizenship are separate. A Brazilian child can support residence and a shorter naturalization period, but does not automatically naturalize a parent.

Tax note

Brazilian tax residence and immigration residence are separate tests. Obtain current cross-border tax advice before relocating. Tax advice is given only by a qualified tax professional.

Documents note

Identity, CRNM, civil records, criminal records, language evidence and ground-specific family documents may be required.
