FAQ

Clear answers about citizenship and residence

Does having a child in another country automatically make the parents citizens?

Usually not. A child may acquire citizenship at birth under that country's rules, while the parents may only become eligible for a separate family-residence or shortened-naturalization route. Diplomatic exceptions and evidence requirements also vary, so treat the child's status and each parent's status as separate questions.

Can the parent of a citizen child receive permanent residence?

In some countries, yes, but not automatically everywhere. The relationship, custody or dependency evidence, the child's status, admissibility rules, and whether the parent applies inside or outside the country can all matter. Use the family-pathway records as a starting point and confirm the current official procedure.

How does Argentine citizenship by naturalization work?

Argentina's current official guidance describes naturalization for adults with two years of continuous, documented legal residence immediately before applying, and says the application begins through the Migraciones digital system. Current eligibility and evidence should be rechecked against Law 346 and official guidance before acting.

What is the difference between residence and permanent residence?

Temporary residence is usually time-limited and may need renewal. Permanent residence generally provides an indefinite right to reside, subject to the jurisdiction's absence, cancellation, or admissibility rules. Neither status is the same as citizenship, and neither necessarily gives a passport or voting rights.

Is DoublePassport a law firm or government service?

No. It is a research preview and planning interface. It does not provide regulated advice, submit applications, or act for a government.

Are the program records current legal advice?

No. They preserve a research cutoff, source links, and draft rule-version notes. Recheck material facts with the responsible authority and a qualified professional before acting.

Does the program finder decide eligibility?

No. It filters structured research by selected preferences. It does not collect or assess the facts needed for a legal eligibility opinion.

Why can two people see different timelines?

Nationality, family composition, permit history, filing date, rule version, backlogs, and individual facts can change the answer. A single global number is often misleading.

Are the costs quotes?

No. Cost components are research references. Government schedules, investment terms, professional scopes, taxes, currency, recurring costs, and personal facts must be verified.

Is there a verified professional network?

Not yet. Draft names were removed because they were not supported by owner-supplied verification. Any future profile must show identity, jurisdiction, authorization, scope, consent, and conflicts.

Can I upload my passport or financial documents?

No. Public tools do not need them, and public intake must never be used for identity, financial, medical, criminal-record, or source-of-funds documents.

Why is the contact form disabled?

The safe default is preview mode. Intake requires explicit business identity, legal approval, a monitored HTTPS receiver, signed delivery, retention controls, and matching public configuration.
